Le glacier de Sarenne, témoin du changement climatique, a officiellement disparu
The Sarenne glacier in France, a long-term climate change indicator, has officially melted away after losing 130 meters in thickness.
Il y a plus d'un siècle, le glacier de Sarenne en Isère couvrait environ 125 hectares. Cent vingt ans plus tard, le 25 juillet 2023, il a été officiellement déclaré éteint, ayant perdu 130 mètres d'épaisseur. Cette disparition est emblématique car le glacier est étudié depuis les années 1950, permettant de suivre l'évolution de l'impact du changement climatique en montagne.
